Many people prefer the straight view of the STX eyepiece module because it allows them to observe and find moving targets, such as animals, more easily. It is also well suited to digiscoping and use in a car or stand.

The Swarovski STX Modular Eyepiece attaches to any of the ATX/STX Swarovski objective modules to form a complete spotting scope. It contains a porro prism and a non-removable zoom eyepiece. The eyepiece is 25-60 power on the 65mm and 85mm objective modules and 30-70x on the 95mm objective module. The module is fully waterproof and nitrogen purged. The zoom ring is placed at the very front of the module so it is adjacent to the focus ring of the objective module, allowing for one-handed zoom and focus.
